Lake Lotawana, MO

Lake Lotawana offers lake enthusiasts the largest lake in the Lee’s Summit area with options to live at the lake year round or have a close-by summer home!  This community is located in eastern Lee’s Summit just off of Colbern Road and 7 hwy.  Lake Lotawna was developed around a 675 acre lake that is privately owned.  This lake was a summer get-a-way lake at its inception but has since grown into a place to live year round for many while others choose it for a vacation spot.  There is a population of 2,215 property owners that are within the Lee’s Summit School District.  Lake Lotawana is its own city so has its own city hall and police department but is still within the Lee’s Summit Schools.  Price ranges in this neighborhood range from smaller summer homes in the $100,000’s to multi-million dollar properties up to $4 million.  Small acreage homes on the lake can even be found on “Goat Hill” at Lotawana.  Homes date back to the 1960’s and can be found intermixed around the lake with brand new homes.  There are 5 gates surrounding Lotawana for entry for easy access.

Lake Activity

Lots & Docks

Unique to this lake community is the offering of dock rights for 1st tier and many 2nd tier lot owners.  The option to have your own dock is a luxury that is a great drawing card for this community.  You will find boat and jet ski lifts on the docks so home owners house their watercraft year round just behind their home.  Vacant lakefront lots are a rare find in this community so it is a common occurrence for new buyers to buy a lakefront lot with an older, existing home and either tear it down or do a major renovation/expansion on the existing home.
